French-Speaking Students Can Now Apply and Get a Study Permit in Canada!

The perk of being a French-speaking student is not only to have settlement services in Canada but also the option to apply for Permanent Residency after graduation.

The participating designated learning institutions (outside of Quebec) for this program will soon be announced once an agreement has been reached.

To help you decide on what program to take, here are the following conditions that must be met and should be indicated in your Letter of Acceptance from the DLI.

• be at the post-secondary level
• be full-time
• be 2 years or more of study 
• lead to a degree or diploma
• have French as the primary language of instruction (over 50% of the classes are taught in French)

Another advantage of this program is that you can bring in a family member, your spouse and your children. You can apply these types of visas for them along with your study permit application:

• a visitor visa
• a study permit
• an open work permit

Quick Facts:

• FMCSP program do not need an provincial attestation letter or territorial attestation letter with their study permit application, a Letter of Acceptance is enough to proceed with the application.
• FMCSP students can bring their spouses and children and eventually apply for PR.
