The province of Alberta launched a new Worker Stream Expression of Interest last September 23, 2024. Starting September 30, 2024, an interested candidate in one of the AAIP streams must submit a Worker Expression of Interest through the AAIP portal at no cost. Here are the things that you need to know before submitting an Expression of Interest: You must be eligible. Tick marks the education, language and work experience eligibility according to your profile and make sure you are eligible in one of the AAIP streams. Skim through the Worker's EOI grid. Read each factor’s requirements and understand how to get those points accordingly. Recall your previous applications. You can only submit one EOI at a time. Any existing applications in the AAIP program must be withdrawn before you submit the new EOI.
Log into the portal, you will need to fill out the EOI form, which will collect the following information
Personal Information: → Name→ Date of birth→ Passport details→ Contact information→ Education Information:→ Details of your highest level of education→ Name of the institution(s) you attended→ Credentials obtained (degree, diploma, certificate)
Work Experience: → Relevant work experience in your National Occupational Classification (NOC) code→ Duration of employment→ Employer details
Language Proficiency: → Upload language test results (IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF)→ Indicate your CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) scores in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Ties to Alberta (if applicable): Provide information on any family connections, job offers, or previous work/study experience in Alberta.
Your EOI will be evaluated based on a points system that factors in your:→ Age→ Education→ Work experience→ Language proficiency→ Job offers or Alberta connection (if applicable) The higher your points, the better your chances of being selected.
After completing the form and ensuring all information is accurate:✅ Review your EOI carefully to make sure all information is correct and complete.✅ Submit your EOI through the AAIP portal. Once submitted, your profile will be entered into a pool, where it will be ranked against other candidates. You will be notified if Alberta selects you from the pool and invites you to apply for a provincial nomination.
