Alberta Launches A New Worker Stream Expression of Interest

On September 23, 2024, Alberta introduced a new Worker Stream Expression of Interest (EOI) as part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Starting September 30, 2024, interested candidates in one of the AAIP streams can submit their Worker EOI through the AAIP portal, completely free of charge.

Candidates will self-declare their personal information and be scored based on the Worker EOI points grid. Once an EOI is submitted, it remains in the Worker Stream pool for evaluation. The first draw is expected in mid to late October 2024, with regular draws to follow, based on factors like score rankings, provincial labor market needs, and the number of available AAIP nominations.

What You Need to Know Before Submitting an EOI:

1. Eligibility: Ensure you meet the education, language, and work experience requirements for one of the AAIP streams.
2. Understand the Points Grid: Familiarize yourself with the Workers EOI points system and how to maximize your score.
3. Previous Applications: You can only have one active EOI at a time. Make sure to withdraw any existing AAIP applications before submitting a new one.
