New Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Requirements Starting November 1, 2024
IRCC has announced a few changes to the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) starting November 1, 2024. If you’re planning to submit a Study Permit application on or after this date, new language and field of study requirements will apply based on your level of education. Here’s what you need to know:
For University Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree Graduates:
Language Requirement:
A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 in all language areas (English or French).
Field of Study Requirement:
All fields of study are eligible.
For Graduates of Other University Programs:
A minimum CLB level of 7 in all language areas (English or French).
Must be linked to occupations in long-term shortage. Check the CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) codes and titles for eligibility.
For Graduates of College and Other Programs:
A minimum CLB level of 5 in all language areas (English or French).
Must be linked to occupations in long-term shortage. Use the CIP codes and titles to verify your field of study.
